Careers : Apprentices

We conduct a highly regarded apprentice scheme for young people who wish for a secure and rewarding career in contracting.  All we ask of you is commitment, motivation and diligence. 

The basic features of the scheme are as follows:

1. It is of 4 years duration.

2. It leads to qualification at NVQ Level 3.

3. Craft training will be given on site, supplemented by technical training at college (one day per week for the first two years and somewhat less in the third year).

4. It is totally funded, in the main by Vallectric and JTL (the technical training provider).

5. It is recognised by the Electrical Contractors Association and Electrical Union (AMACUS).

6. The training provider, JTL, is a company jointly owned by the ECA and AMACUS.

7. The qualifications obtained are internationally recognised.

What to do next

If you are interested then your first need to contact JTL to arrange an aptitude test.  If successful, JTL will circulate your details to all firms who participate in the scheme (including Vallectric, of course).  We then select candidates for interview from that list.  If invited for interview please mention that you visited our site.
