Management Team

Vallectric has a long established and highly qualified management team with distinct but complimentary skills that combine to form a strong management unit. Here is a short profile of each member:

Tremayne Vare

Managing Director

Tremayne joined Vallectric on leaving school and trained as an electrician before extending his experience to include all aspects of contract management; with two years as an estimator, a further two years as a surveyor, and then four years as a Contracts Engineer. In 1999 he was promoted to Contracts Manager and in April 2001 he was appointed Business Manager for Vallectric Building Services, Leeds. In this role he was instrumental in the development of mechanical services within the company and in recognition was promoted to Divisional Director in April 2007 and then to the Board as Operations Director in October 2008. After a successful equity buy-out In May 2015, Tremayne became both a major shareholder and a Joint Managing Director.

Greg Slater

Managing Director

Greg first joined Vallectric in 1999 as the Southern Business Manager and was part of the team which help establish a successful public sector and social housing business for Vallectric in the South. In 2004 Greg moved from Vallectric, gaining further experience with other national M&E companies in a senior position. In 2009 Greg rejoined Vallectric as the Regional Operations Director for the South to re-establish Vallectric’s business presence in this region. This he duly did and in recognition of this achievement was promoted to the Board in January 2013. After a successful equity buy-out In May 2015,Greg became both a major shareholder and a Joint Managing Director.

David Allen

Non Executive Director

David joined Vallectric in 1987 as Computer Manager. A graduate in mathematics, he had developed as a systems analyst and programmer in Vallances Ltd. He completed the process of the transfer and development of Vallectric’s systems and applications and accepted a wider role as Head of Management Services, which besides computer applications also embraced central personnel, quality and safety. Recognising the importance of support systems for both past and future performance he was promoted to the Board as Business Services Director in October 2008. After a successful equity buy-out In May 2015, David became both a major shareholder and a Joint Managing Director.

Andrew Bowers

Commercial Director

Andy, left university in 1992 with an HND in Building (Quantity Surveying) Services and started his career at Haden Young. In 1993 he joined Vallectric as Quantity Surveyor to the Hull branch. In 1998 his role expanded to include mechanical and electrical projects for the Northern Business Services division, and in 2002 he was promoted to Senior Surveyor with responsibility for a team of Quantity Surveyors. All the while, Andy continued to develop his professional skills and achieved an Advanced Diploma and Professional Certificate in Cost Management of Building Engineering. In 2008 Andy was promoted to Chief Surveyor with responsibility for all surveying issues for the company. In recognition of his extended responsibilities since the buy-out in 2015, Andy was promoted to Commercial Manager.

Simon Crossley

Operations Director

Simon was born in Wakefield and joined Vallectric in 1994 as an Apprentice upon leaving school. He qualified in 1997 and became an Installation Engineer and rapidly took on a supervisory role managing the day-to-day activities on many diverse commercial projects. In April 2004 he was promoted to Contracts Engineer and in April 2010 he was promoted to Contracts Manager. Simon has continually demonstrated outstanding technical, design and planning skills, alongside a meticulous attention to detail and, consequently, was promoted to the wider role of Operations Manager in August 2015 with particular responsibility for company operational process development. He, joined the management team in June 2016.

Jason Oakford

Operations Director

Jason joined Vallectric in February 1999 principally as a Site Manger and since that time has progressed to the position of Contracts Engineer, then onto Contracts Manager with responsibility for the supervision of many Projects undertaken by the Company in the South of England. As Contracts Manager Jason looks after the engineering management of both single and multi-trade projects carried out by Vallectric South with responsibility for costs, materials, manpower, welfare, quality, and health and safety, while at the same time developing and maintaining good Client relationships.

Mark Louth

Regional Estimating Manager

Mark joined Vallectric on leaving school in 1983 and trained as an electrician. On qualification he embraced, first, site supervisory and then, site management roles. It was a natural progression, when in 1996 he became Planning Engineer for the Business Services division. In 1998, utilising his considerable site experience, he became an Estimating Engineer and was promoted, first to Senior Estimating Engineer and then in 2006 to Senior Estimating Manager. He now has responsibility for a team of Mechanical and Electrical Estimating Engineers, overseeing both development and quality, as well as conducting tender negotiation in association with the Business Manager.
